Zigbee radio preventing web login of hub

C8 Version 2.3.7.141
Hi I'm new to Hubitat but old school to Z-Wave. I have the Vera Edge and Vera Plus which I have used for many years and still being used for some basic automation. I decided to upgrade last month with the C8 hub. So far I have moved 36 z-wave devices to the hubitat with little to no problems and even created a few basic rules and mode changes. Everything has been working great until I decided to start adding zigbee devices which I have never used zigbee before. I got some third reality smart plugs to start building a zigbee mesh with its built in repeaters. The hubs zigbee radio was originally set at channel 20 with power set at 8. I did my first pair of the smart plug with no problems. That plug was placed within a few feet of the hub. I waited a couple of hours and paired a second smart plug about 10 feet from the first plug. According to the graph, the hub was connected to both plugs but did not show a connetion between each plug. I figured it would show a connection since they were fairly close to each other with no walls between them,

Now for my problem: after about an hour after the 2nd smart plug pairing, I cannot get into the hub using the web browser. It like locks up as it is searching for it. I use an android tablet with Firefox and I even try using my phone with no avail. I try everything by rebooting the tablet or phone with no luck.
The only thing I can do is unplug the hub wait a minute and after reboot I'm in with no problems. I would try with the phone also and no problems. I would keep trying the web browser and keep getting no problems till about a half hour later it happens again, I cannot get into the hub anymore. I have lowered the power to 4 with no luck. The only time this problem does not occur is when I disable the zigbee radio and after a couple of days of no problems, I will turn the radio back on and within a 1/2 hour or so the problem returns. If I unpair the 2 smart plugs and leave the radio on it does not have this problem.
I hope someone can help
Thank You
JM

Couple of questions:

  1. Is the C-8 connect via WiFi or Ethernet?
  2. How close to the C-8 is your WiFi?

This is a new one.
Can you PM me the hub id? I'll check the engineering logs on the hub.
Also, there is a hidden button on the bottom of the hub that should reboot it. Press and hold for 10 seconds, then release. The LED should blink red/green upon release and turn to blue within a minute, indicating a reboot in progress.

I have the C-8 connected via the cat 6 ethernet cable that came with the hub to a Synology WRX560 mesh router in the basement. I have 2 hardwired MR2200ac mesh routers upstairs at opposite ends of the house. So wi-fi coverage is real good throughout the house. Originally the c-8 was sitting about 1 foot from the main router so I thought maybe there was a clash with the zigbee hub vs router so I moved the c-8 a couple of days ago away from the router about 6 feet on the other side of a drywall wall. Enabled the zigbee on the hub yesterday with the 2 zigbee smart plus still paired and in a very short time ran in to the original problem of web browser not working. Its working great right now since I have the radio disabled.

Im not familiar with pm gopher.ny, is that a private messaging with you and how do I go about getting you this info. I have the id ready. Also did you want me to enable zigbee radio then wait till it locks up then press the hidden button or just press it now.
Thank you all for the quick response in trying to fix this problem

Yes... click his name then click message. If you can't for some reason, join the owners group and you will be able to after that.

Jumbo frames enabled on your network?

Hi Eric, unfortunately Jumbo frames is not something I am familiar with. If its a setting on my router, I did log in to it earlier and went through all the settings on it and couldn't find anything about jumbo frames. I do log in as administrator, so I assume all setting changes are available to me, this is a residential router. Synology WRX560.
If you feel the zigbee problem could be due to not having jumbo frames enabled I will continue to pursue the different settings on the router to see if I can find something.
Thank you for your help

Jumbo frames = MTU. If you have an MTU settings in your ip setup make sure it's 1500
