zigbee radio on C7 goes offline briefly roughly once every few days since update to 2.4.3.173. both times hub was shutdown and powered off for 15mins afterwards. This did not happen on 2.4.3.172 or earlier. Let me know if i can provide any additional info to assist w/ narrowing down this issue.
It’s not that busy, the only time i get elevated hub alerts is right after a reboot. hubstats says cpu usage mostly stays under 30% but will peak up to 50% if i trend the data over 30days.
The only zigbee “recent” changes that i maid is that i changed my channel to 26 because it was the quietest and i removed the zigbee devices that didn’t support the channel… but it’s been ~a month since i made that change.
I’m gonna try 2.4.3.176 today just to see but from the release notes i dont see anything has been done to zigbee for a while.
I'm mostly not doing zigbee anymore, but you knew the 8 second zigbee radio reboot used to be a thing, right? I forget if it was ever solved, formally.
Well reading about the radio reboots did help put things into perspective. I did find a zigbee outlet that was reporting power metrics even though it was set not to. Hopefully the firmware update will fix that. Maybe it was a contributing factor
Starting firmware update for AV Battery AC input, Third Reality, Inc from 1001305C to 10013065.
Unfortunately the HE hub is not very good at telling us what is wrong with it. Even if the aggregate metrics like CPU load look good there could still be enough going on to starve the radio. Last time this happened here on a C7 I had added a couple of mmWave sensors paired to another hub via hub mesh. Taking them off again got rid of the issue.
yeah agree, hubitstats is only set to poll cpu usage every 7mins… A LOT can happen on a cpu in 7mins.
On the zigbee side i am finding that my thirdreality zigbee outlets are having issues setting the Electrical Measurement cluster before the firmware update. Afterwards it does look like they are setting correctly.
IDK if this is the smoking gun, but i do have several of them and it is possible they could have spammed the zigbee radio all at once with power updates.
@bobbyD IDK if this is on your feature release schedule, but it would be nice to get updates/notified when new zigbee firmware is available. Release notes too would the the icing on the cake.
Been doing this on mine for as long as I can remember ..
I have never figured out why or how .. I just ignore it.
and as far as I can tell .. really has no impact on how the hub works.
I'm the same. Happens roughly every 3-4 days.
It's a C8 and been happening for at least a year as I moved 1 year ago, It was happening in my old home and it's happening in my new home which is smaller and has fewer devices installed.
Not a big issue as it comes back online around 8 seconds after going offline.
I've set up a WC piston which sends me a pushover message when it goes online/offline. At least I know it comes back OK.
With my C-8 this started happening enough that it was impacting use. Some days it happened only a couple of times. Other days it might be several time per hour. Nothing had changed and I could never pinpoint what was causing it. Staff looked at my hub and couldn't find anything. They sent me a new hub anyway (I have hub protect). It never happened on the new C-8. Zigbee was rock solid. And, again, nothing had changed except the hub hardware. I have a C-8 Pro now and it's never happened on this one either.
