Zigbee Question: Just Migrated From C8 to C8Pro And Upgraded Z-wave

My one Zigbee device, a Sinope propane tank monitor is not communicating with the hub after migration and Z-wave upgrades. It had been working very well on the old hub. Cloud migration imported all radio settings.

Should I wait on that to start reporting, along with the battery powered Z-wave devices?
I've tried configuring/refreshing, but nothing.
I don't feel like messing with the device.

Thanks,.

Wait a couple of days and see if the monitor "magically" appears. If not, then you might need to reset the Zigbee monitor and repair it with the hub. When the hub recognizes the device, all the rules, etc. should still be in place.

The only difference between the C8 and C8 Pro is a faster processor chip and more ram. The Z-wave and Zigbee radios should be the same. My transition went flawlessly.

Now if you migrated from a C7 to C8 Pro, that is a different matter as the radios are upgraded. It could take a few days for all the mesh networks to settle down.

It's my only remaining Zigbee device, and had been working flawlessly.

I've also tried things like reset Zigbee radio and 'mesh'.

It's annoying though, even if hopefully a relatively simple fix.

I'll wait a couple of days, but my experience with Zigbee hasn't been encouraging about self healing.

If you actually “Reset” the Zigbee radio, then you will have to re-pair the Zigbee device again. Hopefully you only “Restarted” the Zigbee radio. :crossed_fingers:

Yes, you are correct.
Reboot radio and rebuild mesh.

WHen you say that "this is my only remaining Zigbee" device, do you mean you have no other Zigbee devices, or this is the only Zigbee device that is not working?

Zigbee devices are designed to work in a mesh in combination with other Zigbee devices, especially those with repeating capabilities.

I presume your propane tank is located somewhere outside your house. It may be that the signal between the hub and sensor is not strong enough for a complete connection. Even if was working with the C8 hub, the antenna orientation and placement might be just enough different to make a difference. One thing you might try is getting an inexpensive Zigbee repeater placing it between your hub and the sensor. There are some cheap Zigbee plugs that work well for this purpose.

It was working fine for many months.

Did it work for many months on the C8???

Yes.

Did it ever work on the C8 Pro?

No. I did the update when I got the Pro.

I just trudged out to the tank.
Brought the sensor in the house.
Removed/Reinstalled batteries, pressed green button.
Seemed to be working again.
Trudged back out and reinstalled sensor.
The end.
