Zigbee pairing issue with Aqara vibration sensor

I have a C-8 that is working well with many assorted devices. I paired an Aqara vibration sensor over a year ago with the Oh La LABS driver no problems.

I just bought two more Aqara vibration sensors via Amazon. One paired easily with the Oh La driver. The second one refuses to pair. I have tried dozens of times with various resets and sequences. I get to "Found a Zigbee device - initializing", "Finishing up, please wait ...", and then the "Having trouble pairing" notice.

It all sounds like a defective device. Anything else to try before I send it back? It feels like a personal defeat.

Try removing the battery from the sensor for at least 10 seconds, then try pairing the sensor while within inches of the hub.

Thank you for the suggestion.
Still no go.

Here's what I had to do for Aqara contact sensors:

Aqara Door and Window Sensor
Pairing:
1. Reset by pressing button (on one of the sensor's short ends) for 3 seconds -- you should get 3 blue LED flashes.
2. In Hubitat, pair by selecting "Devices", "Add Device", "Find by device type", "Contact Sensor", "Generic/Other", "Generic Zigbee Contact Sensor", "Add", "Start Zigbee Pairing", THEN press the sensor's button quickly every 2-3 seconds until "Found a Zigbee device, initializing ..." appears (at which point, stop pressing the sensor's button).

So maybe combine my suggestions:

  1. Remove the battery from the sensor for at least 10 seconds, then re-insert the battery;
  2. Start pairing the sensor while within inches of the hub [maybe try picking the "Aqara Acceleration Sensor"]; and
  3. Press the reset button quickly every 2-3 seconds until "Found a Zigbee device, initializing ..." appears (at which point, stop pressing the sensor's button) [I'm assuming your sensor HAS a reset button]

Success!

I think the key is pushing the reset button every two or three seconds during the pairing process. I vaguely recall doing that with the first sensor two years ago.

Thanks so much!

This seems to be the key!
