Zigbee device pings, but doesn't report

What is strange is that on the zigbee device page it still pings every few hours, but has stopped reporting open/close status.

Does anyone know how this is possible and why it happens? I've had similar issues with Nyce motions and usually pulling the batteries and reinstalling fixes the issue.

When my battery gets low in mine sometimes I have to re pair it.

I believe you are right, because I wound up changing the battery in the device. I didn't have to initiate pairing on the hub but pushing the button on device a few times fixed things.
What I don't understand is, if it has enough battery power to check-in/ping every few hours, why can't it send other messages too? If it's in a "limp mode" why is it still reporting 100% battery life? Sloppy design on the part of the Nyce device I'm assuming?

Not sure to be honest. I only replace batteries in mine about every 14 mos. I notice right away when they're not working and immediately check battery levels.
