For those that understand this stuff well more than I do, but thoughts on how this will impact my Hubitat?
Edit: and ‘Suzi’ was really picked as a name?

Unless zigbee 4.0 devices are dual-band, it is unclear how they’ll be backwards compatible with zigbee 3.0.
In any event, the point is moot until such chips are available and used in products desirable for home use.
As a name it sort of makes sense once you know this:
It’s also announcing a new feature called Suzi, which is short for Sub-GHz and Zigbee
There's a new feature in zigbee 4.0 which permits many devices to be commissioned at a single time. I presume this is done by putting them in a queue, which shall be known as the "Suzi Q".

soo if Suzuki operates in 900 MHz where all my big beautiful Z-wave is uninhibited by interference - is this going to introduce interference? ![]()
that's a good one - with Q = 4 ![]()
edit - though I have to say, every automatically generated search link on Reddit looks like it has Q next to it ![]()
According to the article they are supposed to be "fully backward compatible" but I guess we shall wait and see. With my limited knowledge on this stuff I have a hard time seeing it unless you used them as a zigbee 3.0 device.
Sounds like they are also getting ready to crowd the z-wave air ways as questioned in another post.
So is that when Hubitat will finally release a C9 ? I’m looking to buy the C8 pro now that I had made my peace the C9 wasn’t coming any time soon ![]()
