Zgbee dropping on Samsung motion

For the last week my samsung motion detectors have been losing connection to the hub, If I pull the battery , they reconnect. Is anyone else seeing this or is it my setup

What Zigbee repeater devices do you have in your network? Do you have any Zigbee bulbs directly connected to your hub? If yes, what brand/model?

Many Zigbee bulbs are poor Zigbee HA repeaters and can cause the type of issues you're having. Also, not having enough good repeaters can cause these issues.

GE Link, Cree, Osram/Lightify are all considered to have issues. Sengled bulbs work great as they are NOT repeaters, and thus will not screw up your Zigbee mesh network. You will need some decent zigbee outlets to act as repeaters, though...

System has been running over a year with no changes other then the firmware. No repeaters at all, its less the 5o feet to the hub

Battery low in the sensor? Maybe on motion the extra drain is causing it to drop off. I donโ€™t trust battery values in drivers. What does an external battery tester read? If the sensor batteries are over a year old, maybe they didnโ€™t last as long as expected? Is it a particularly active location? Are you polling the sensor frequently for temperature?

I recommend adding at least a couple of "good" Zigbee repeaters to strengthen your Zigbee mesh network.

These Iris 3210-L outlets make very decent Zigbee repeaters, and are low cost. This ebay seller is very reputable. Many community members, including myself, have bought from him with no issues.

You can also get some IKEA Tradfri zigbee outlets for about $10 a piece as well, if IKEA is a nearby option.

I'm not sure if this will help in your case, I had one side of our house that I kept loosing connection to multiple Zigbee sensors (Iris and Samsung Water, Contact sensors mostly) and I'd have to pull the batteries and put them back in and they'd work for a week or two again (and they seemed to be going through batteries faster than normal).

I have 3 APs in the house so I changed the WiFi channel from 11 to 6 on the AP on that side of the house and so far I haven't had a problem with any of my devices. Zigbee on my hub is set at 20. I had added many repeaters trying to fix the issue and it helped some but they kept dropping until I made the WiFi channel change. Hopefully they stay connected until their batteries die now and hopefully the batteries will last years again like most of my other sensors.

Another vote for checking or replacing the batteries. The Samsung (a.k.a., SmartThings) motion sensors are (IMO) notorious for not accurately reporting battery status. Mine just crap out and that is my reminder to replace the batteries.

Not sure how close your neighbors might be but I have someone living nearby who must fire up an access point in the afternoon for a few hours. My Unifi access points show all my clients doing great and then sometime in the afternoon, several devices toward the front of my house start degrading. When I look at the nearby APs, I see one with a strong signal. Sometime in the evening it shuts down. I don't think it's causing problems with my HA devices, the WiFi camera on my front porch stutters a little bit when it's happening.
