I have a ZEN16 multirelay that I'm going to eventually use for my garage doors. I've been doing some testing and realized it doesnt seem to send events back to hubitat. For example , if i trigger a relay digitally via the hub or physically via a switch wired to it, it never reports being on. If i do a manual refresh it will get the correct state, but it never updates as it should and no events show in the logs.
I've tried excluding and including multiple times including right next to the hub. I've also tried adjusting parameters including a few that arent available in the hubitat driver but nothing seems to make a difference.
I am on firmware 1.04 which appears to be the latest. I've run out of ideas. Is this normal or do i have a defective device perhaps? Or am i iust doing something wrong. I do realize I could still use it just fine for a garage door, but knowing when a relay is triggered would be very nice for automation purposes. Thanks for any insight anyone may have.
@njschwartz make a dashboard with switches tied to the child device. Then toggle them. Do they respond? The web page itself may not but it's reporting to hubitat it's on/off
The first time I paired a ZEN16, I couldn't figure out why it was beheading strangely until I used the settings shown in the screen shot. It never seemed to do what I wanted when I chose "Garage Door. " as the input type.
Edit: Oops... that screen shot is for a ZEN17, but the 16 was similar... acted goofy until I selected an option that wasn't "garage door."
I have tried every iteration of parameters to get something to report back to the hub and none do. I have tried momentary, switch, and garage and none change anything as far as reporting. It seems the device simply does not send reports to the hub, or if it is the hub isn't getting them.
I have tried reflashing the firmware a couple of time with no luck. Not sure what else I could even try at this point.
When you reflash a Zooz, you usually (always?) have to remove and re-add the device. It may look like it is paired to the hub after a reflash, but it isn't.
Did you do that remove and install again process after reflash?
I had flashed it in the past and removed and reparied it probably 10x. This time I did not re-add it after the flash. I mean it is clearly still paired since it does respond to the on off commands, just no reporting. I will remove and repair it once more to see if that changes anything, but I kinda doubt it.
