Does anyone else have a Zen Thermostat, and if so, have you noticed that manually setting the fan to "on" (via any method I've tried: Dashboard, the device's edit/admin page, etc.) does not work? It does get logged as if it's happening, but it doesn't happen. Setting the fan using the thermostat itself on the wall logs the same info but actually does cause it to happen. Changing to fanAuto via any method works as expected.
This might be a more general thermostat problem, but I only have the Zen to test with. It also may have happened before 2.0.7; I've just never noticed it until now.
This is working for me now. It could have been a hub firmware update, or it could have been me un-pairing and re-pairing the thermostat. Either way, I'll take it.
Update: this is again not working for me. I have no idea why. I doubt it is a Zigbee mesh issue as my network should be pretty strong (and the thermostat is in the same room as the hub), none of my other Zigbee devices have problems, and the command to change it back to "auto" always works. (I can change it to "on" manually on the thermostat, then Hubitat is able to change it to fanAuto
later. fanOn
does not work, even though it looks the same in the logs as me doing it manually.)
I just tested mine, worked. I can say that it was acting stupid a week ago, pulled it off the wall, pulled the batteries, it was fine after that. Maybe give that a shot.
Hmm, I just did that (and a re-pair just for fun) and it didn't have any effect. I'm on the new firmware, 2.32 (from Info on the device, recently upgraded when paired to ST as part of a new firmware they recently pushed out for it), if that makes any difference. I might try putting it on ST for a bit to see if it's just my device.
out of interest, why did you update the firmware?
I was hoping it would solve the problem where setting it to 55 really did 54.9 or 55.1 or similar nearly every time. (I didn't, and the release notes weren't out yet when I did. They don't claim to solve this, nor am I sure they consider it a problem.)
Did you see the thread on the ST forum regarding uncontrollable Zens post update?
Edit: Sorry, it wasn’t a separate thread. People were reporting it after the hub update.
Nope, haven't seen that, aside from the one issue I reported myself during the ST hub firmware beta (resolved with a cloud DTH fix).
