In case anyone is interested the price is good. High power relay for $52.75
Is there a Hubitat driver that works well with it? I haven't been paying attention,
There is a built-in driver for it.
@jtp10181 might also have a custom driver for it.
Is there anyone with actual experience? As in, for instance, use with LR Z-Wave and ZW-JS?
I got 6 hits on "ZEN78" and 1 on "ZEN 78". Nothing from @jtp10181 and one from @gopher.ny in release notes from October, 25. Nothing on actual usage.
A nice device is worthless without a driver that actually works. I'm not going down that road again.
I have not noticed any problems with the built-in driver. I am using Z-Wave JS.
ZWave LR as well?
Yes, LR.
That's good news.
Haven't looked at the system driver, but if it's like any others, a lot of parameters aren't exposed. A manual, but understandable, process is likely required.
Contrasting that to my current high power Aeotec switch which is still a mystery to me, lol.
I have one but have never paired it to Hubitat. It should work on my Universal Switch driver to expose all the settings if needed, and turn on and off. I think Zooz may have tested it. You just wonβt get the temperature reading. I forget if it has any other odd capabilities.
Nice. Separate probe, as in, the thing gets a little warm, (just a little, lol),I imagine.
Just checked my ST driver, and it has power meter too, so you would not get any of that with my Universal. But you could always use that to adjust the settings if needed, then go back to the system driver.
@jtp10181 You make the best drivers. Don't know what is going on but sure would like to have one of yours for the ZSE50 and the Zen78 when it arrives. Mine was ordered and shipped today. Also the Zen57 and Zen58.
Paying clients are always going to win out over we freeloaders ![]()
Hard to argue with that logic.
Thanks. Hubitat has been mostly keeping up with drivers now on new devices, so the devices are at least functional. When the device cannot function at all is when Zooz really bugs me to make something. It also just got to be a lot to keep up with, devices constantly changing and being added. My process also takes some effort for every change, I typically do some testing, review all the changes line by line, update HPM manifests, push to Github, update the forums post and also post a reply with the changes. So even a small change I have to have a good chunk of time to work on it.
Also, last year Zooz contacted me to take over their custom SmartThings drivers, which I do get paid for. There is almost always a backlog of things to work on. If I get caught up on the custom drivers, I am also now working on getting everything "WWST" certified.
Just received one.
Haven't opened package, but it's heavy.
I consider that a good sign. ![]()
Got mine yesterday and installed on water heater this am. Replaced one I had built a while back that had a contactor fail and it is on backorder. Kinda special as it is normally closed. I like this better.
How's the driver working out?
Just using on and off. Disabled all the power reporting features.
Are you running ZWJS? Long Range?
Maybe tomorrow I'll hook it up to 120 and put it through its paces.
