Z-Wave "Show Device Details" page not populating

On my C7, when I click on the name of a Z-Wave device (I only have Z-Wave devices added so far) on the Devices tab the page opens, but in most cases will remain blank. I can leave it for several minutes and it will still not populate. The same thing happens if I click the "Info" button for the device in the logs.

The only time I can get those details pages to work is to Reboot the hub. Then I can get the pages to populate for the next 10 minutes or so.

I have tried soft resets at least a couple times. Also have done the shutdown and remove power twice or more. Same behavior as rebooting, info page works for a few minutes then won't populate.

Also did a Z-Wave radio reset and re-added all of my devices. (This is a hub that I purchased a while back and just started using so it only has 6 devices so far.)

Before I added any devices at the beginning, I upgraded the platform version to the most recent version at the time (2.4.1.153) and upgraded the Z-Wave firmware. I'm guessing the hub shipped with 2.2.9.146 as that is the lowest version I could potentially restore to from the Diagnostic page.

Any suggestions to get this working?

Hub C7, Platform 2.4.1.156
Z-Wave version:
VersionReport(zWaveLibraryType:7, zWaveProtocolVersion:7, zWaveProtocolSubVersion:18, firmware0Version:7, firmware0SubVersion:18, hardwareVersion:1, firmwareTargets:1, targetVersions:[[target:1, version:7, subVersion:18]])

Has anyone else seen this or have ideas to try?

Maybe there's an issue with the Z-Wave radio?

I want to fix it before I add any more devices since it really makes the hub mostly non-functional in terms of checking on or making any changes to devices.

@bobbyD ?

We have not seen this, but from the details provided, this is a front-end (display) issue and not a hub issue. I assume that devices are working even though the page is blank. What browser are you using?

Normally using Microsoft Edge on a Windows 11 system. It does seem to be some sort of display problem.
[Edit 1] And based on my tests it appears to me to be a hub related display problem, not a browser problem.

Should I be doing some other resets? [end]

I did the following additional tests:

Tried other browsers on the same Windows 11 PC, Firefox and Chrome. Same behavior with the Device details not populating.

Tried Firefox and Edge on a different PC running Windows 10. Same.

Made sure all tabs to the hub were closed on the original browser and tried other browsers again. Same.

I also created a dashboard with a couple of the devices and was able to switch them on and off so Z-Wave is working. Devices all still work at the switch. All switches are recent, 700 or 800 series, Zooz devices. same issue happens with two Z-Wave water sensors I have.

If it makes any difference, I should note that I get alerts about the Zigbee radio being off since I don't have any Zigbee devices yet.

Thanks.

Two ideas.

Sometimes the network speed that is set makes the UI sluggish. In the network settings on the hub, if its set to 100mbps set it to Auto. If its on Auto set it to 100. Then reboot.

Try rolling back to 2.4.0 platform. Use endpoint http://YOUR.HUB.IP/hub/advanced/downloadPlatform/240 to download it, and then it will be available in the diagnostic tool to downgrade to.

Thanks for the suggestions. It was at Auto, I changed to 100 and still the same issue. Works for a few minutes after reboot then when I come back to the Devices page after a bit it doesn't work.

Also tried this and on 2.4.0.151 still see the same issue.

It is the weirdest thing. Right after reboot everything is fine. After some amount of time (no exact number, but on the order of 10-15 minutes) if I go back to the Devices page the views stop working.

I have a much older C5 that I have used for years at a different spot and on the same computers I have no issues.

After it has ben running for a bit and the issue has started run this endpoint and post the results. Could possibly be a load or memory issue.

Here are the results (reformatted in Google Docs for readability I hope), as of yet I really don't have much running on this hub.

That looks fine, no issues there.

Did a reboot with rebuild database and clear past logs checked and still no fix. I also switched the ethernet cable from the switch to my mesh router itself. Also checked using the Hubitat Android app to connect to the hub, same problem.

Further testing with timing seems to indicate that if I interact with a device details page every 20 minutes or less after a reboot everything works. If I wait 30 minutes or longer then Device details don't fill in.

It's like that part of the hub UI is going to sleep on me and becoming unresponsive.

My only option left seems to be a full reset :grimacing: and hope it is a fix.

@bravenel any insights into other options for this?

I've passed it on. Please don't do any more resets, those are not related to your problem.

When your hub is up, after a reboot, please take a screenshot of an example of the page that later will not populate, and post it here.

When this happens, the page not populating, are you able to navigate to other hub UI pages?

Thanks for the response late in the day. Yes, I can navigate to any other pages on the hub.

Here is one of the Device details pages after a reboot:

Here is the same page after it won't populate coming from the Devices page:

Same page coming by clicking on the Device name from the Z-Wave details page when it won't populate:
