Z-wave Dimmer Wall Switch Recommendation

Looking for recommendations on a good Z-Wave Dimmer wall switch. I do have a neutral. Zooz? GE? Seeking advice

You'll get 100 different opinions.

I like GE (especially the motion dimmers)... Some like zooz... Inovelli are nice but no stock until end of July, HomeSeer have a lot of functions but are pricey.

What he said. There are a ton of options now. The new GE Enbrighten ones are much smaller in both depth and width so might be easier to fit into multi-gang boxes. HomeSeer has a line with configurable (or not) LEDs; the new Inovelli dimmers and switches also have a configurable LED or LED bar (not individually addressable as of current firmware, but I'd guess they're much easier to see at a distance than HomeSeer's), and they're also quite cheap. Zooz has several different options and great support, and you can often find them on sale for Inovelli-rivaling prices. Both the newer Zooz switches and all generations of Inovelli switches also support (or will) disabling the relay so you can use them as effectively just a powered scene/button device for use with smart bulbs.

The only recommendation I'd make is what not to do: don't get the old generation of non-Plus GE Z-Wave switches or probably any similar product made around that time. You should be fine if you buy new now, so it's mostly something to look out for if you buy used on eBay or whatnot. They don't support instant status reporting, and they'll need to be polled to report a manual/physical change of switch state back to the hub due to a now-expired patent they didn't license. (It's still not a big deal if you use them somewhere where you don't actually touch the switch, but it's annoying at least--and can cause problems with automations if any depend on the current switch state--if you use them somewhere where it matters.)

Agree 100%. Do not buy ANY manufacturer's device that is standard zwave, and not zwave plus. No matter how cheap they are. Don't do it!

My $.02. I've switched from an ancient X-10 setup to Hubitat and have been using various Zooz devices (switches, dimmers, sensors, n-way) from thesmartesthouse. The price, documentation and support have been great and they've worked flawlessly for me.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the advise.

Follow Up: Went with GE Z-Wave Plus from Lowe's. Very easy install. Paired easy, working great!
