Z-Wave Device List But No Device

I see a lot of issues with Schlage locks in this community, and I think I’ve followed all the suggestions. This is a problem with a Z-Wave Schlage FE599.

I’ve done multiple factory resets, exclusions and inclusions. I’ve done shutdowns and soft resets and restores. The lock and hub are within an inch of each other. I can replicate the issue I’m having with great consistency, which makes me think that I’m simply (hopefully) missing a step.

When I run an inclusion the Z-Wave device is found but initialization is not completed.

The lock appears in Z-Wave Details with the status OK, listed as “SPECIFIC_TYPE_SECURE_KEYPAD_DOOR_LOCK”. There is no device name as no device is successfully created, but there is a “Discover” button - that doesn’t seem to do anything. I can exclude the lock, and start over again, but I end up in the same place.

Would appreciate suggestions. I’m just starting out with Hubitat - moving over from Smartthings- and I have multiple Schlage locks. This is a bit of a dealbreaker if the product can’t support the locks.

Thanks.

That particular model of lock (FE599 leverlock) doesn’t play well with 700-series controllers.

I use a BE469 w/my C7 hub and it works very well, so not all Schlage locks are a non-starter. But if you have a bunch of FE599's sounds like you may have a problem. Hope that's not the case...I came from ST and prefer this platfrom so much more.

I continue to use a Schlage FE599 but I have it joined to an old C-4 hub that I have located very near the lock. When either the lock or the C-4 dies, I will get something else - hopefully Zigbee. Right now I am just maximizing ROI.
