Z-Wave delay on all devices for last few weeks

I have started experiencing delays on actions of all my z-wave devices. Can anyone help me figure out why? Its been 2-3 weeks since it started before that commands were intantanuse before. Zigbee devices are working as elected without delay.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Might have a device going bad or with a low battery that is starting to spam the hub. Could watch the ZWave logs to see if the traffic shows anything.

@thebearmay Thanks, I will check the log.

If you have a C7 hub, post the entire Z-Wave details page, can be multiple screenshots.

Here it is...

Nice, I have one of those plugins to take huge screenshots as well, so much easier.

All those lines with the "Discover" button are probably failed device pairings. The next node that actually paired is probably where it worked. Sometimes those can gum up the network. One by one try doing a refresh on them (click once) wait for page to refresh, then you should have a remove button, click remove, again wait for page to refresh. Some might be stubborn and not wat to remove, just get as many as you can to start with. You can also do this with a logs page open and some status messages will go into the logs if it works or not.

I see a bunch of sensor devices, I would check those and make sure the settings are not set in such a way they would be sending more info than you need.

Also, if you have any power metering plugs, check the settings on those as well, set to the least reporting possible that gets you the info you need.

@jtp10181 Okay, will try your suggestions and provide a update.

Just noticed you also have the "Firmware Update" available at the top. You should do that first, it might make removing the failed nodes easier as well due to some of the bug fixes. It is an update for just the Zwave chip. If the Update is not working, do a full hub shut down, pull power for 30 seconds and reboot. Let it settle for a couple of minutes then try the firmware update again.

will do. Why are there repair buttons on some devices?

Its to do a zwave route repair, it should not be needed often on the C7 or newer since it will self-repair over time. If you moved a device across the house then it might help get it going again.

It is only on some devices because battery powered devices cannot be repaired, since they are typically asleep not listening for commands.

I have updated the z-wave firmware, removed any devices with "Discover". I am still experiencing the slowness.

My C-8 arrived last night. Should I keep trying to resolve the issue on the C-7 before migrating or go head and migrate and see what happens on it?

You have 6 total ghosts that were created with mains based devices. I am surprised your mesh works. They need to be removed for a healthy mesh. If you can't remove them, you could try migrating to the c8 then try to remove them. Best thing to do though is if you know the device that created the ghost, disconnect power to that device then remove the ghost from Hubitat. If that doesn't work, you will need a z-wave stick and the silabs software (free) to remove them.

@rlithgow1 I was able to remove them as @jtp10181 suggested.
There is what it looks like now,..

Looks good now

I would migrate, the 800 chip plus the antenna will only benefit your mesh. The problem might possibly go away. On the C7 my zwave was pretty good, but on the C8 it is amazing.

Everything is working as expected on the C-8. Thank you @rlithgow1 @jtp10181 @thebearmay for your help.

Working better than on the C7?

Almost all z-wave devices have direct connections with the C-8. There is a couple that don't but should as far as distance between each other. Overall the C-8 is performing much better than the C-7. I am very happy with the C-8!
