Z-Wave Bulbs Extinct?

I have a Z-Wave bulb that is acting up and I'd like to replace it but I can't find any to purchase.

Are Z-Wave bulbs a thing of the past?

I would say yes, they are mostly gone if not completely gone from a quick search I just did. Assuming you wanted a RGB bulb? In my opinion, Z-wave and color bulbs were never going to be a great combo.

I suspect Matter bulbs will be the next thing. They work OK, and you can get them fairly cheap. You can get two of those for $15 or less. I recently paid $12 for two Orein brand matter bulbs.

Edit to say: these Matter bulbs work fine with the Hubitat Beta. Not sure when the release is coming, but you could join Beta to try them out.

They were barely a thing of the present at any "present" point in time. Aeotec and Inovelli were two of very few that I was aware of (there was at least one other I can't remember, but I think it was fixed white with dim and on/off, not RGBW control like these). Z-Wave never seemed to work well for bulbs in my experience, at least not for any significant number of them. This might have something do with why Zigbee took off more in this space.

Inovelli had a hard time selling all of theirs, but it seems they've finally sold out. If that's what you have and you want more to match, try asking on their forums (or maybe here, but you'll probably have better luck there) -- it seems to often be the case that people have some they are willing to get rid of.

I dunno if you’ll have any luck actually obtaining any, but you can always search the z-wave alliance website for a pretty comprehensive database of certified devices.

No, I'm attempting to replace a GoControl LB60Z-1.

Thanks for the info. I'll give up on my Z-Wave bulb search.

Just picked up one of these on sale:

LIFX E26 Edison Screw White L3A19LW06E26US - Best Buy

I have two of the Aeon RGBW bulbs that I use every day. I have never been a proponent of bulbs because of the always-on-power issue. However, in two specific cases I have lamps that I can remove the little knob and then bulbs work fine.

I recently bought a pair of Matter Bulbs (WiFi) to try out.

I think it's working fine. The Matter RGBTW bulb is in the same automation as the Aeon RGBW and the Matter bulb lags the Aeon by a second the first time after a hub reboot, and then more or less at the same time after that. It's tough to get a solid reading on that because both bulbs are set to a mid dim level and the ramp times within each bulb play a larger effect than my eyes can discern. The Matter bulb seems to make a bigger initial jump, but does it a tiny bit later. The Aeon seems smoother to me.

I have 3 Lifx RGBW bulbs and none of them are in use. I have two of the candle variety, one is completely dead and the other two are in floor lamps that are no longer in use. Both Matter an dLifx get used by Hubitat in a generally similar way. The bulb gets connected initially via Apple (Homekit or a Lifx specific App) and then they become visible to Hubitat with a little effort.
