Got the Aeotec Z-stick, how do I get hubitat to recognize it.
You really need to have the Zstick "connected to something. I have mine connected to an install of OZWCP (OpenZwave Control Panel) It has been a while but as I recall, put the HE hub into pairing mode and put the stick into pairing mode. It should show up as a device. Once connected you should be able to run OZWCP and view Zwave logs etc.
I see a new device but it is stuck at initalizing. Does not appear to want to pair
About once a month I pair mine... I have two ZWave networks, because I have 3 Hubs intraconnected. (One has the radios disabled.)
I want to backup the ZWave data and to do that I Include my ZStick first to one network, do the backup, then Exclude and Join to the other.
The process I follow is super simple.. put the Hub into ZWave Exclude, and click and hold the button on the ZStick to go first into Exclude. The ZStick will blink and go Blue for a moment then back into Orange. I click the ZStick button to turn it off.. then I put the Hub into ZWave Include and click the ZStick button so it goes blue. It will then blink and go solid blue for a moment to indicate a join is successful.
It never excludes and this is what I keep getting when I try to include
No Idea what is the issue, it just wont pair. Thanks for your assistance
To include an Aeotec Z-Wave USB stick in your Hubitat Z-Wave network, you need to have your USB stick connected to your computer and working with a software interface, such as the original Zensys Z-Wave tools, which are hard to find. You could try some of the downloads linked from this thread, which I have not verified: Looking for Zensys Tools - Beginners - openHAB Community.
Once you have your USB stick recognized by your software interface, you put Hubitat into inclusion mode and click "learn" in the software interface, which causes your Aeotec Z-Wave USB stick to join your Hubitat Z-Wave network and "learn" the network topology.
I had the same issue with the Aeotec Z-Stick, any other devices hanging on the initializing step. I had a ghost device that was recking havock with my Z-wave network. A soft reset finally allowed the hub to finish inclusion.
The problem could have been one of the apps causing problems with the ghost as I did read a post that suggested disabling them all first. But the soft reset finally allowed the z-stick to be added to the network.
