I haven't done anything with Matter yet but my understanding has been that it is an improvement over zwave and zigbee alone. I believe C8 hubs support it. So the question is, will Hubitat support the new Yale Smart Lock with Matter (Yale® Smart Lock with Matter | Smart Lock for Google Home | Custom Codes | Keyless Entry Door Lock | Yale - Yale Home)?
I don't want to give this a try if it is too early to be usable with Hubitat. Based on How to use Matter on Hubitat Elevation | Hubitat Documentation it would still need something else to get it added to Hubitat. Since I don't have any of those other Matter controllers it looks like it isn't feasible to use a Matter device.
You would need a Thread border router, as it appears from the specs that the device speaks Thread (and not Wi-Fi or something the hub can communicate with on its own -- it does not have a Thread radio like it does Zigbee and Z-Wave). It's possible you already have such a device in your home; you can see some examples in that same document. You don't need to be using them as Matter controllers already, and this particular requirement is, as noted, unique to Thread devices, not Matter devices in general.
That being said, support for Matter locks in general is new in 2.4.2, and I don't know if anyone has tested this particular model. So, that might be a bit of a gamble, too, even though I'm sure any problems would get sorted out eventually.

Matter has yet to fulfill its promise. In general, not all device features are currently exposed via Matter for most/many devices that support Matter.

@bertabcd1234 @aaiyar Thank you both for the great information. I haven't been following Matter closely and still had it in my mind as the next great thing based on what it was supposed to be not how it actually is.
I'm testing this matter lock. Used Google home to bridge and lock works fine, but does not show up in lock code manager unfortunately
