Yale conexis L2

Hi Guys,

I've just treated myself to the above smart lock.
Silly question, but what can connecting one to hubitat achieve above the usual app function such as auto unlock etc.

Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by "etc." .... nonetheless, if your lock reports lock codes back to Hubitat, then it is very useful to use lock codes as triggers for specific automations. For example, you might one automation when your code is used, but a different automation when the dog-walker's code is used.

Ah , I see...
So for example, if I unlock a door with my key certain actions can be performed.
If someone else unlocks with their key a different action can be used?

Makes sense now, thank you!

Hi Guys,

Another probably dumb question, but how do I integrate the lock with hubitat?
The only instruction I've been able to find was to press the internal button 3 times.

This makes some beeping noise, but hubitat never discovers it - the hub is approx 2m away

Do you have the additional z-wave plug-on module installed? https://yalehome.co.uk/media/wysiwyg/Z-wave-module-manual.pdf - this may help if so.

My Yale is standalone as I never felt I needed to take it any further into my smart home, just the fobs and/or the app was enough for my use-case.

Stupid me!
I assumed that L2 was by default z wave compatible!

In fact that was the only reason I picked the L2 over L1 - lesson learnt I guess.

Thank you so much for your help!

Yeah I spent HOURS looking at smart locks a month ago and most of them do not provide very clear information. Its hard to even figure out what the current models are, some of the stuff Yale has on Amazon is hard to find on their own web page, etc...

I ended up with a Yale Assure SL (brand new) which came with an ancient Z-wave module that only does S0 security. They dont really tell you this anywhere unless you dig into comments from other people. You would think a current product would have S2 by default, even the very old used Schlage I got do S2 security.

Got myself the Z-wave module!
Integrated with hubitat and able to lock and unlock.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to extract the fob ID that unlocked the door? I want to set up a notification advising me who opened the door - for example, wife, kids ( They all have their individual fob ).

I looked in the logs and events, but whatever numbers can be seen change ever time the very same fob is used.

I'd love some help please?

I bought an L1 a few weeks ago because I saw someone post something that confirmed it worked 100% with HE with the zwave module. If the L2 also works with the same module then that's also good to have confirmed.

I'd also be interested in understanding if it's possible to determine who/how the lock was controlled. Perhaps being able to derive rules from each one differently.
