I have a wyze doorbell and wanted to remove it and start from scratch with another one of any other brand that would be able to work with HE. But browsing topics the other day i saw a post about the sage doorbell sensor.
The wyze can uses 24v it does send a wireless signal to the chime but i don't know if that will give enough power to the sage sensor?
I got rid of or pretty much just uninstalled everything wyze when i started with HE with the exception of the vacuum cleaner and the doorbell and a couple of cameras that are pretty much sacrificial cameras because I'm using one inside my water softener to monitor how much salt is in there, i know the salt is going to kill the camera sooner than later but it has been in there for just about a year and still going. The second camera is in my attic because i had a cat somehow making my attic his house.
Anyhow anyone knows if the sensor will work so i can use it with HE?
The Wyze doorbell doesn't work with any 12VAC chimes, so the Sage doorbell sensor has nothing to connect to. The Wyze install instructions basically have you straight wire the 12VAC to the doorbell. It doesn't assert or switch it. [It seems like they easily could have, but they didn't.]
If you have Alexa, you can load the Wyze Alexa skill, then set a routine so that when the Wyze doorbell is pressed, it will flip a virtual switch in Hubitat. There's a second or so delay, but that is not an issue for me.
As for cameras in really odd places, I can beat that. I've got a Blink camera in my septic tank. For the win.
Outside version, I hope. Good thing the battery lasts a loooooooog time in those things.
Poor camera is in a very crappie situation lol
You win Sir.
That camera was one of my biggest disappointments when I bought it. It's sitting on a window sill in my back Porch. Except for the option to take it with me in my truck is the only reason I still have it.
And they sent me a stupid cowboy hat for it?
