I was thinking the exact same thing. I live in NC and the humming birds have been gone since ~October, long before temperatures ever get close to freezing.

We live in San Diego and have Humming Birds all year long. We go through 2-3 Quarts of liquid every day. Though we may move to to the Pacific Northwest, and I found this thread very interesting.
