Wifi network question

I moved to a 1g connection from 500m when my son came back home after finishing school. I was being impacted by the 15m upload limit (according to my edge router) working at home and with him online. I moved to the 1g so my upload is now 30m. A symmetrical connection is not available from my provider. He is now working two jobs and one of them is working from home three days a week so it’s even more important. But I don’t think I will drop back down when I return to work. It’s noticeable and I can’t remember when I last had a complaint.

That dongle also works well with the fire tv stick. I have two setup that way.

This ^^^ Anyone smart enough to be going around hacking networks, will be able to find your network regardless of SSID broadcast on/off.

Instead, name your network purposefully: e.g., "FBI-Wi-Fi"

Use strong passwords or a password manager, don't let neighbors/friends log into your main network (that's what Guest networks are for), and if your kids aren't well educated/well behaved (or are just young), keep them on the Guest network as well.

"FBI-van-74" is slightly better.

Thats what started me thinking about this. When i changed the initial password i just used a password generted by Enpass. I have set the guest network up, and set up a qr code so I won't even have to give out that password.
