Painting with a broad brush, JS the most viable (perhaps only?) path for Hubitat's continued use of ZW at a platform level.
The lagacy/ZIP platform is no longer supported by SiLabs, so it's an increasingly losing horse as time goes on.
Unfortunately, JS has proven to be more resource-hungry than anticipated, so it's not recommended for anything less the 8-Pro hub. Perhaps more refinements can improve that, or maybe not.
Bottomline -- even if you're on a 8-Pro hub, I'd recommend sticking to legacy/ZIP, at least for the time being... There are still a number of kinks to be worked out with JS (even on with the 8-Pro hardware). Hopefully, these are being worked on by staff, but we users don't have visibility on it.
