Why is my C5 out performing my C8 on updates?

I've noticed over the past year that my C8 seems to really drag on updates whereas my C5 hub updates and boots up several minutes faster.

Neither C5 hub or C8 run automatons. They strictly share devices through hub mesh. The C5 shares 9 devices, and the C8 has 23. Both hubs run Zigbee only. zwave radio is off.

I have already done a soft reset and restored the database and doing the hub update still causing long wait times. Once the hub is fully booted it runs normally.

I also have another C8 that runs all my automations along with the bulk of my other devices, around 80 or so. It drags just as bad doing updates too.

So I'm just curious Am I the only one seeing this?

I don't have a C5 to compare to but I have a couple C8 pros and a C8 and a C7, and the pros are always much faster at updating than the C8 and C7. :man_shrugging:

Fortunately it's only in the updates that drag. Otherwise they all hum along doing their thing. I just find it odd that the older hub with less power beats the later generations.

Check your network settings on the C8. Set the Ethernet speed to Auto and see if that makes things faster when updating.

I think the CPUs are pretty much the same between the C-5, C-7, and C-8. The Pro is the only one with a major CPU upgrade.
