My father used to smoke a pipe. He kept Captain Black in a humidor. When he passed, my older sister gave me the humidor and said “I washed it several times and couldn’t get the smell out”. Nooooooo. Fortunately the “smell” is still there.

My grandfather smoked a pipe (and passed away in his 90's). Whenever I walked into his house, that amazing "smell" was the first thing I noticed. How I wish I could smell that again.

@TomG I also used to smoke a pipe. But honestly it's kind of a pain. Lots of futzing and extra equipment and stuff. And damned hard to manage in the hot tub,

My dad always got pipe cleaners from me for Christmas. Actually, I was young and had no money, so my mom would buy them. My dad always got excited when he opened my present even though he got the same thing from me every year.
