Why did I forward port 25104?

Replacing my router. Noticed that I had a port 25105 forwarded to my Hubitat c7. No idea why, or if I need it.

I subscribe to remote admin, so I know it doesn't need it.

I also use Maker API for the HD+ dashboard (which I do access remotely) I'm thinking that's the reason? If so it it safe to leave open?

probably a source port. If it is let it pass.

You don't need to open any port for Hubitat in order for it to work.
Maybe it was previously for reverse proxy or VPN? I would remove it if I don't know what's it for.

That doesn’t sound very likely but I’ve never used HD+ as an iOS user, and I can think of two simple ways to check.

First is to consult the documentation for HD+.

Second is to disable the rule and see if your dashboard breaks.

What router are you using?

Ah - Insteon, blast from the past. I used to be a an Insteon devotee… actually found my way to HE salvation during the Insteon hub blackout a few years back. If there is any Insteon refugee support group count me in :raising_hand_man:

Quick internet search brought me to that page. Didn't really read it, until sending it out. Finally scanned it and found where port was mentioned. No idea if it is even relevant or not.

No need for port forwarding to use Insteon. That is a local port for them. I still use Insteon dimmers with my Hubitat hub.

I used to use Insteon before their corporate problems when I switched to Hubitat. I believe this was left over... I deleted it and confirmed that everything still works, including HD+

Thanks all!

I was a early tester and proponent of the Insteon integration for Hubitat. Thanks to the work of two very talented people, the project became a reality. I have not used the Insteon app in years, so it really doesn't matter what happens with the company. Everything is fully local, and there are enough Insteon devices available to last me a lifetime.

Insteon are excellent, highly reliable local dimmers available at consumer level prices. Second only to the new Lutron Caséta Diva dimmers in my opinion.
