I'm going to try it closer to the hub now with a 10 ft line of sight... Moving the bulb to living room to test
All my Inovelli switches are repeaters though. I already did a z-wave repair and that didn't work. Would let you know the result of the test
remember when you move mains powered z-wave devices you must do a z-wave repair so they have the new routes
so after you move the bulb run a repair or it might still be going through the old routes

So only 2 repetitions this time around...
Not seeing duplicates
The second one is timer based poll of colors after fade duration
Yeah. It does appear to be much better when there's a direct line of sight... Disappointing that it's the mesh especially considering all the switches I have. Any thoughts on how I can fix the mesh please?
If you’re in the US this is a bad idea, in my opinion. I’ve had all of my bulbs fail multiple times in the course of one year, now. My other smart bulbs are all in good health, meanwhile.
How many Inovellis do you have?
It is just two bulbs. One of them is awkwardly in a can light. that I am replacing the the Can light retro fit fixture.
I will still have the bulbs as backups.
Could it be a faulty bulb?
Lots.. I would really suggest the aeotec range extender 7 (based on the 700 series z-wave chip) it has the best range.. Buy several an place them at key points throughout the house (as needed) and 1 in the same room as the hub (trust me I know this one sounds redundant, but it isn’t)
I have mine setup where 2 of my aeotec RE7s have direct line of sight to the hub.. And my others don’t, but can get great signal from the 2 that have line of sight..
I’m a Network Engineer by day.. I spent a lot of time engineering my zigbee and z-wave meshes.
Your dimmers might not be doing much to extend your mesh.. They have a lot of metal, and in a lot of houses the box is metal too..
My bathroom has 8 inovelli bulbs, so I have a aeotec RE7 in there too
So basically think of designing it as the RE7’s being the backbone and everything else feeding off of them.. And providing redundant routes in the event of a failure or a sudden source of interference to route around
I have actually been moving more and more to z-wave and removing zigbee devices.. And my mesh still shows no sign of slowing down.. In fact my z-wave network runs circles around my zigbee network because it doesn’t have to contend with wifi
If you send me a PM of your floorplan and where your Hub is .. I’d be happy to draw out a solid mesh backbone.. show you where you would get the most bang for your $
I just got my color inovelli bulb in the mail today. It works well ! and runs heat wise about the same as my HUE bulbs
Colors transition well and is pretty snappy.
@bcopeland do you still recommend the repeaters if I am going to put the inovelli red series dimmers thru out the house ?
The first set of red series dimmers will be getting installed around 14 feet away from the hub ( just measured) , with double doors in the way ( glass doors, usually open but close them from time to time
Thought about doing what you recommended, put an extender in the same room int he outlet across from it.
I have an alarm.com system that has Zwave locks on the front and back door, hopefully that does not mess with the signal to much
Any recommendation on extenders that are outlets vs plug in repeaters ?
Thanks for your responses. Would PM you my floorplan.
