The three main options seem to be rule machine, motion lighting app, and rooms manager app.
I'm trying to have all the lighting automated, BUT be able to disable the motion AND auto-off features by pressing the physical switch on or off. Is this possible with any of those?
Motion Lighting is probably the best choice for simplicity. When you create the rule, the section that you will want to pay attention to is the "Options for Additional Sensors, Lights-Off and Off options" section.
Yep motion lighting can do a lot more in one place. You can do it in RM too, but it may take several rules to duplicate the function of a single ML rule.
Just looking at it from the top ... Say I want motion 1 to turn on light 1....can light 1 be the switch that disables and enables the motion lighting rule? That's what I'm really looking for. A way to enable it disable it via switch because that's simple and the wife won't complain about having to go in an app.
Edit: I setup a rule in ML using the switch like i described above. Won't allow the rule to function like I was thinking it wouldn't. Is there any way to do this without making virtual switches?
