One of my room has one table lamp. I have created few scenes for it, such as "night reading", "night work" etc. The actual buklb, and these scenes are all exposed to Alexa. In Alexa, these are "bulbs" added to my room. Now, if I say "Alexa, turn on the lights", which of these 3 "bulbs" will Alexa select? I think, it will turn on ALL the 3 lights. In this case, what will really happen? Basically Alexa will most probably try to turn on all the 3 scenes, though they all are the same bulb.
I suspect you are correct but this can easily be confirmed by turning on logging for those scenes.
When an Alexa device is tagged to a room in the Alexa app, saying “turn on the lights” only affects the lights grouped into that same room.
So if you don’t want scenes to trigger when you say “turn on the lights”, I’d suggest setting up your Alexa room groups to only include real lamps, and leave your scenes out of the group. This is the pattern we use across our house, which seems to work fine.
