Where to find my hub's IP address

For some reason, today I am unable to connect with my hub using my laptop. My iPhone still connects. I'd like to confirm my hub's IP address. Where can I find it? Additionally, how can I make the IP address static as I have heard that as a recommendation?

In the app on your phone, go to settings - local hub discovery. It should show your hubs IP address.

Set it on your router if you are able to.

EDIT: You can also use the hubitat portal.

Most routers allow you to set a DHCP address reservation that would provide the HE hub the same IP address every time it booted up. In rare cases, the router may not have that ability and the only resolution would be to replace the router with one that does.

My router does indeed allow assigning a static IP address to a device on the network. It gives me a rather lengthy list of IP addresses from which to choose. I have chosen one of these and am ready to finalize the new configuration but I get a message notifying me that doing this might lead to connectivity interruption. I have never done this before so I am a tad gun shy. Does it sound like I'm on the right path here? Continue on?

The IP address will be assigned by it's MAC address. Some routers will allow you to assign the current IP address assigned to the devices MAC address. Other routers allow you to assign an address outside the DHCP range. If this is the latter, you will need to make sure you have the HE hubs MAC and enter it EXACTLY into the router for the assigned IP address. A copy / paste if possible will hopefully get it right. Use the hub portal to copy the MAC.

It will likely require shutting the HE hub down from the settings menu and then pulling and restoring power to the hub to hopefully force the renewing of the IP address.
