Any chance that the Staff could add where everyone is from under or next to their name in a post? Sometimes it would help to answer questions, especially if you don't know everyone, knowing where they are from. Just a thought.
Click on your Icon in the upper right, select the gear, then on the left, click Profile. You can add "About Me" and "Location" etc.
When you click on someone's name in their post, a popup opens with that info and more. I asked for something similar 6 months ago, and was reminded that, EU privacy laws have to be followed too.
Thanks, still learning where everything is at.
Wow, I didn't realize that showing a state or a country was a privacy issue.
In the UK, showing ANY information, without permission means you fall foul of out GDPR laws
GDPR - General Data Protection Rules
It basically means you canβt display, or make use of, any data I give you without my permission.
However, I give you permission to know that I live in the North-East of the UK and you can tell anyone
Andy
It's an Opt-In thing. We can ask. We can't require.
I try and answer my portion of messages in this forum. I will, especially for new-names-to-me, click on their name and see when they joined and if revealed, where on the planet they are. If I'm capable, I modify my answer for that info. I really don't want to answer someone in AU with a link to Amazon's US devices. I already know their selection is incredibly reduced. And So On...
For all those willing to Opt-In, I appreciate it.
Ok Andy mums the word!
Mine does not show it by choice. I'm from California originally. I've lived in Toronto for 20 years. Commit it to memory.
Funny.. I'm the opposite.. from Manitoba orginally, lived in California since I was 3, which is way more than 20.
10 degrees further north... than where I was born, glad I got hauled out of there. I believe absolutely that your face hurts. It's 76F here (24.4 C) So I'm good right here.
I'm Kev ...from Bristol UK....South West
Yeah! South west!
Home, when I'm actually there, is San Antonio, TX USA. Travel a lot for work to UK (London and Wales), and all over the US.
Just outside Philly. The air used to hurt my face, but thanks to global warming it's not so bad these days.
Dracut, MA USA! Just north of Boston.
I live where all the best news stories originate. Sunny Florida of the U.S.A.; but on the West coast where it's boring and we know how to cast a ballot.
Northeastern NC. Rural area. LOTS of rivers & sounds. Closest metro area is Norfolk VA about 50 miles north of me.
Sunny Scottsdale AZ here
I'm in Southeastern, NC... lots of Beaches and Hurricanes!
Iβm just out side of Philly too, in Delaware.
