When to restore from local backup vs. cloud backup?

I had to restore from a backup for the first time after a wave of power outages/glitches must have messed up the HE database. I ended up restoring from my local backup, even though I had a cloud backup as an option since I have hub protect. I did it that way because I suspected the issue was not with the zwave pairings and thought it might be better to not overwrite anything with the radios. Fortunately, the restore from the local backup worked perfectly and everything is back to normal. But it got me thinking:

Are there circumstances where it's better to use the local backup instead of the cloud backup? Or vice versa (apart from the case where you indeed need to restore the radio data from the cloud)?

I do local backups every night and cloud backups once a week. If the issue is a corrupt database, then restoring a local backup is adequate to fix the issue. In the far less likely event of a z-wave radio failure, my recourse will be to restore the cloud backup either to my existing hub or a replacement.

For zigbee devices, there is currently no difference between restoring a local or cloud backup (again, unless there a hub hardware failure).

So would the appropriate procedure be to:
(1) try restoring from the local backup first
(2) if restoration from the local backup does not resolve the issue, then and only then restore from cloud backup?

Unless you have good reason to suspect radio corruption, restoring the local database makes best sense.
