When Do I Use Z-Wave Rebuild Route

When I add a new Z-wave device, I usually Include it near my computer before moving it to its final location. Should I be using Rebuild route after I move it?

Z-Wave devices will re-route on their own if necessary. You can speed this process via the Rebuild Route option, but doing a rebuild doesn't mean that the route will always change if the device is happy w/its current route. Generally the "if a route works, you don't need to fix it" saying pretty much applies.

I typically join new devices in or near their desired location. If it's a tough join process that might help identify a need for an additional repeater between the device and the hub.

It's a case where a module final destination is in a different building and there is not enough time to trigger it and run back to Include without a time out,

why not go LR?

Yeah that does make it tougher.

Build up your sprint speed w/regular workouts?!

If you have Remote Admin or a VPN to your network you can do it all from your phone or computer in the other location? But guessing likely you don't have those in place or you'd use them.
