What is this blank entry in the ZWave log?

Things are running a little choppy tonight so I opened the live zwave logs. I noticed there is a device filter for an unnamed item. It's the small blue square I circled. Anyone know what this is?

The hub?

Are you guessing or is that the answer? I thought that may be the case but also thought if it was the hub it would say so. Maybe this is a ghost device?

The first time a device shows up in the zwave log it is not properly linked to a device so it shows up as dev: 0, I am guessing thats what caused it.

Did you block out the device Ids in your screenshot or are they all showing as blank (there is no reason to mask those)?

I didn't mask anything, and I haven't added any new zwave devices in... weeks, months?

The only thing I did was selected the blank device, that's the blue empty square I circled. So it's just the one device missing device id. The rest of the devices you see are being filtered out.

Never said a new a device. I said the first time it shows up in the logs (while you have it open).

This is what it should look like. This is just one device, first entry is blank the rest have a device ID. This is on 2.4.0.151

Ok that is why it was only showing the blanks, I did not realize that.

Perfectly normal, move along.

Learned something new about logs today. Nice.

Wish I would hear that more often...

Its only the z-wave logs, and I would call it a bug, but I guess it is so minor that no one has bothered to fix it.

Ok when you said, the first time a device shows up in the zwave log, I thought you meant the first time since it has been joined to that network.

Just so I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying when I open zwave logs, whichever device in my network speaks first, it will not show the name of that device? If I close the zwave logs and open them back up again, whichever zwave device happens to speak first will be the new blank device reporting but I won't be able to see the name?

No, the first time each devices shows up it will have a blank ID. The next entry from any of those same devices will have the ID. Its as if it doesn't figure out the ID until after it prints the first log line.

So all of the blank lines is the first entry from every device.

Yes if you close it and open it again that process starts over.
