I want to ping my hub from another hub on the same home network.
What would be a good ping interval?
I don't want to overtax resources in any way.

I currently have it set for every 10 minutes.
A ping isn't going to introduce much load on your network. I use a WIFI Presence Sensor device to ping my phone every minute without any problems.
