There are more and more people developing more useful utilities for people to use. What are you using and what are you benefiting from?
BTW, I am not seeking kudos for my own creations… more the opposite… please focus on offerings from other dev’s. My work in this space is limited at best nowadays and I would encourage people to embrace the newer tools people are developing.
None, I don’t see the benifit of a dashboard………. prove me wrong and I might adopt one
It’s not an idealogical question… If you don’t want to, I don’t want to make you. But when you are willing, let us know and we can help you navigate your way into the light…
I primarily use Apple Home/HomeKit for control.
I use a dashboard (I've been using EZ dashboards, but have been testing others) on a 10" Fire tablet. The tablet sits on a stand on one of my living room end tables. It's sole purpose is for quick at a glance status of various devices in my house. I can quickly glance over and see if my front door is locked, if any doors are open, lights on, etc.
So to summarize, for me, a dashboard needs to allow me to quickly see the status of my most important devices.
I have been using Dashboard Studio developed by @imdrewsf. It's a huge timesaver when developing dashboards. Being able to copy and move tiles and CSS within a dashboard and between dashboards is great.
We don't use dashboards often in our house but they do have their place when needed.
Different strokes… Unlike some I almost never use the phone for anything Hubitat. Easy visual status access to most everything.
And the lower half
Not sure this fits the question, but I heavily use HD+
I am hopeful for some provocation. There is little overlap in the use cases of our old/new homes. So it is time for fresh System 2 thinking.
Since the forum and hubitat updates I now have unwanted dashboards on my android phone and I cannot get rid of then and look at my hub whatsoever like I used to do
After much buggering about its back to how I want it
So they are still there... ???
. Or do we need to tell Bobby to try harder?
I don’t think it’s possible for forum updates to impact your hub’s UI or anything else related to how your hub functions.
What do you mean by unwanted dashboards?
Yes they have eventually returned after messing about this morning and last night for several hours
I don't use dashboards, just the android version of the web interface
So what are we talking about here? This thread is about dashboards.
You said that after your hub updated you have “unwanted dashboards” on your android phone.
I am wondering what that means?
The 4 little squares right at the bottom of the screen that gives a dashboard view was permanently in use no mattet what I had chosen despite being able to choose whatever I wanted it remained a dashboard view
That sounds like an app issue on your phone. A forum or Hubitat hub platform update should not cause that.
Tongue-in-cheek comments aside, if you have struck issues with the recent updates, I would create a topic to chat about it. Not because I'm precious about my topic, just so others can chime in with their own experiences.
