Recently had some failures in my Tempest WX which required me to remove my station to get the WF/Tempest hub to work again. For whatever reason the hub was in a strange locked scenario. I finally got everything back together and communicating. However, the Hubitat WeatherFlow is not updating. Tried generating a new Tempest/WF token, which did not resolve. Made sure the Station ID was the same. Any ideas @snell as to what I’m missing? Do I have to do something drastic and remove everything and break all my rules? The station and hub are the originals.
If the WeatherFlow Token is not valid anymore, the driver cannot poll anything from the API because their servers will not recognize it. That is likely the issue. If you go to Tempest Settings , after logging in you should be able to see your valid access token (and delete/create a new one if needed).
The device(s) on your Hubitat will not be bothered, as long as you have the same Station ID (and Sensor ID for Parent Data if you had set that, otherwise you might get some different values there). If you DID want to remove it and “start from scratch” you could, but as you noted you would have to edit your Rules to switch to the new device(s). Although, the children would likely get the same DNIs generated, so MAYBE they would not get confused once re-created? Not sure, have not tried that with any Rules.
Let me know if that helps at all, or if it is still having issues. I sometimes fine (not with this, but in general) that specifically rebooting a Hubitat can help it out at times as well.
@snell Thanks, tried that, to my dismay it didn't work. I must've really ticked of the tech gods yesterday. Every time I fixed one thing the next thing in the chain failed or something totally irrelevant went south. This morning after a few coffee's, just started from scratch. On the plus side, found some rules that made me go "Hmmmm- why do I have this". Pretty sure I have things back to a working state. On a different note; Do you know if you can offset the temp and or humidity readings from the Tempest WS?
It is spreading, my Tempest app on my phone has completely barfed… I wanted to check if there was a temp offset within it. Once I discovered it does not work (and I cannot remember the last time I used it) I did a quick Google search. According to that, there are no user methods to set a temperature or humidity offset. Supposedly it has a learning algorithm that should narrow it down in 7-10 days… but if you have “proof” it is off you can submit a help ticket to WeatherFlow (apparently).
As for the Rules… I have done that also. There have been a bunch over time that I am like “what was this even meant for”… Some, I realize devices that were removed were part of it so it made no sense (why have something about a contact sensor or motion sensor trigger if that sensor has been removed). Some were because I made them to get screenshots or work through steps to give people help. Finally, some were just big question marks…
