@mike.maxwell I have a Watercop valve that has been in place for over a year working with no issues. I have a rule that cycles it on the first Saturday of every month. This morning I woke up with no water in the house and found the Watercop valve closed. When I attempted to command it open, it did not respond. After some troubleshooting and excluding/including it I have found it is actually working but responding to the opposite commands. When I push either the Open or On button in the driver, this closes the valve. When I push the Close or Off button in the driver, this opens the valve. The state displayed in the driver matches the physical state of the valve, only the commands are reversed now. Did something change in the driver in one of the recent updates?
I concur. Getting the same behaviour on mine. I very vaguely remember this being backwards at some time in the past, but don't remember details .. possibly a disagreement as to whether on means open or closed. But clearly open should mean open and closed means closed, but right now those commands are reversed.
This is using Generic Z-Wave Valve in 2.2.1.113.
I am also using the Generic Z-Wave Valve on the lastest firmware. I did a little searching before posting and saw the issue about these being opposite but it also said this was fixed in the driver back sometime in 2018.
Yep, it is backwards now. If I hit open it closes and when i hit close it opens. Don't ever recall it being that way before.
I haven't tried it in a while so I don't know if it was changed in the latest release.
Found the problem.. Submitting fix for next build
Great news.. Glad to hear it
Hi,
Just upgraded to 2.2.4.143 and my forezz water valve is working backwards, using the generic z-wave water valve type.
Have you tried hitting configure in the driver page just to see if it's gonna help?
For what it's worth, I have the same water valve using generic Z-Wave valve, and it operates as expected under 2.2.4.143. Close or Off closes the valve (no water flow). Open or On opens the valve (water flows).
Same valve (mine is a WaterCop Z-Wave (not plus). Using the same Generic Z-Wave valve driver, and it's reading On/Open, and we have water in the house.
Clarification...by "we have water in the house" I mean that water is available, comes out of the tap when we turn it on, not that we're flooded.
for those with the issue you can use my driver.. if you want until it is fixed.
FYI...I updated to 2.2.4.145 last night (skipped 2.2.4.143 because I didn't see it) and I have no problems with my older non-plus WaterCop valve. HE shows the correct physical state of the valve and commands work as expected. I had an issue back in June with an update causing this but I don't see it this time.
I solved my problem by excluding it and then re-discovering it.
