I have several of the Smartthings (Samsung) water sensors, and they've been great...don't think I've had to change the battery yet, and they definitely work!
Maybe a different firmware version. I just checked my logs and it is not showing up as the logs have rolled, but the last event was this morning around 2:55AM. Before that was on 11/3. YMMV
SmartThings hub is a direct competitor to the Hubitat hub as they both offer highly customizable home automation, but Hubitat supports most of the SmartThings or Samsung sensors along with pretty much every other sensor SmartThings supports.
