I have my water main attached to the Zooz ZAC36 Ball Valve Controller. It has been sitting there quiet for the past year. This past weekend, before I went away for the weekend, I changed the automation so that automation would close the valve when we are away and open when we open it again. When Iw as back yesterday, it correctly opened the valve when I was back. but about 1 hour later the valve mysteriously closed. I remove the automation script, but then it happened again this morning. I am attaching the log, as you can see the valved was close and there is no triggering app causing this. anyone experience this?
Disarm HSM when back does look suspicious as it happened twice (yesterday afternoon and this morning). However, I manually trigger that Rule Machine action just now and it didn't close the valve. I am also consumed why would an open command result in a closed valve
Look at the post above from @velvetfoot
Due to this setting from Zooz there is potential for a driver to send the wrong command. Are you using the built in system driver? I am honestly not sure how that one handles this setting.
I have a custom driver where you can configure this setting and the driver will take it into account. The current version is not quite right with on/off but OPEN will always tell it to open and Close is always close. I am working on an updated version that is even better so that the on/off commands follow what it says in the Zooz docs and open/close always do what you would expect them to do.
That is awesome news - thanks Jeff!
I'd love to take advantage of the on-mains vs on-battery status parameters and other stuff they've included in the last couple f/w releases,
Thanks again!!
I should have a beta version here pretty soon. I am going to need someone with the battery pack to see how that all works, since I dont have one I do not think mine will give me any of that info. I will tag you when I post info about it.
I look forward to helping - thanks!
