Warning kasa tplink integration went crazy at midnight

Package manager was not picking up any update..

i manually updated and it seems to have stabliized.. some major bug with 2.2.5 ..
only 2 of my many switches were doing this.

stil broken with ver 6.0 of drivers..will try removing and reinstalling device

yep definately broken in latest releasae.. even removing and readding device through the app as soon as i turn off cloud and click save preferences it goes nuts like this

turning off energy monitoring is a workaround for now

None of my TP-Link devices have energy monitoring. Thank goodness I only have 6 in use now and no automations associated with them. They are the top six resource users. It seems like it would take down the hub with not too many more. For comparison, the energy monitoring zigbee outlet on the washing machine is at 0.2%. I used to have more TP-Link devices, but suspected them of causing issues and have slowly whittled them down. I’ll be doing more whittling in the near future.

Entire house is Kasa and I have seen no abnormalities other than the persistent delay in my 3 way switches.

Have you checked your device stats. It looks like my six TP-Link devices are using 10% of the hubs resources. The other 302 devices are using 3%. People talk about Echo Speaks using resources, but on my primary hub that has ES, Alexa, Homebridge, Zigbee lights, and z-wave devices, only 3% of total time has been used by everything combined.

ya i was getting much higher utilization with version 6 of the drivers as well and higher avg. millisec than i ever saw with version 5.3.5 of the drivers.. i removed all devices and went back to version 5.3.5 of the device handlers and app.

re-installed.. energy monitor on some of my switches still doesnt work and goes in a loop but turned that off on those, and now am getting much lower utilz. and avg millisec.. Still not sure why i cannot turn energy on a couple of the switches ... weird.

im getting times in the 200 ms range instead of 500+ with the older version of the drivers.
