New user here. I’m trying to setup an automation where hitting one hard wired z wave wall switch changes a few other lamps on/off. I’ve created the two automations in the “easy rule” app (one to turn devices on, one to turn them off) but the switch does not trigger the other lamps. However I noticed when I force the automation within the phone app (not hard wired switch), it does work perfectly so any ideas on why it’s not working with physical paddle switch?
If the switch is old (not Z-Wave+) it most likely won't report physical interactions. You will need to use the polling app.
I have one of these old switches left in a location that is rarely if ever pressed. I had 2 but noticed the flashing blue light of death this morning on switch 2 so I have to dig out a replacement from my inventory of spares in the shed.
Great tip and it is old for sure! I’ll dig into what polling app is thx!

Tip #2
If you are going to really need this switch to quickly turn on other lights you might be better off swapping this switch with another Z-Wave+ switch and putting this switch somewhere where it's not used much. This is what I ended up doing and have slowly replaced all of these old GE switches as they die with new Zooz switches.
Great tip and ordered thx so much!
Get on the mailing list. They often have sales and the prices are really good when they do. It's a great time to order replacement inventory.
What mailing list?
Great deals for sure, thx!
