Wall panel for weather display?

I’m not sure anything like this exists, but I have all this great data from various sensors, what I’d like to do now is find a display I can hang on a wall to display. I’m looking for an always on unit, so not an iPad, etc. Maybe a simple lcd panel that can bull from HE?

Amazon Fire HD8s, or H10s, are relatively inexpensive and work for me, along with the Fully Kiosk Browser make a great dashboard display unit. Click on the dashboard's weather jpg tile, it goes to full screen.

How to you handle battery? Hardwired? I was hoping to run something off of a couple of AA’s

You're not going to find something that connects over wifi and is powered by AA batteries like that. Wifi requires too much power.

My HD8s have been on power for perhaps 3 years first on ST now on HE

I was thinking a small panel (think alarm clock or those clock/weather weather stations) that communicates over zigbee/zwave. Can Hubitat send data to be displayed on something like that? That way it can be powered off AA's.

That’s not the way zigbee and zwave work. The hub won’t “send it data” because it’s not a hub. It’s a sensor. You’re looking for a custom piece of hardware here that you’d have to build yourself.

THat's what I feared. Thanks for confirming.

I’d just consider a tablet. That’s what most people do.

With holidays coming, fire tablets should be a bargain.

So how do most people power them? Take them down and charge them on a regular basis? Run a cable to a nearby outlet?

There are some stores on Etsy that sells the tablet mount with charging solutions if you want it out of view. Look for MakesByMikeStore and the look at the Tablet Charging section. There are others, but that's the one I remember off top of my head.

Some people actually make a recessed wall mount for them (there are also some kits that can be bought) if you are handy with electric and can add an outlet.
