Vivarium Project

So, I’m just getting started with Hubitat and I’ve decided I want to take part of what I’ve done in ST and move it to Hubitat. I have a Bearded Dragon (Lizard) vivarium where the environment is controlled by ST. I watch the Temp/Humidity and turn heaters and bulbs on and off accordingly to keep the environment proper for the little critter.

Right now in ST this happens using an Aeon Labs Multisensor and Aeon Labs Smart Strip. All being controlled by Rule Machine using schedules and monitoring the Multisensor. I think I saw the Multisensor was listed as a device that works, but what about the Smart Strip? I need individual control of the outlets and preferably the ability to see power usage. The power usage tells me if the basking light goes out and I can have it send me an email if that drops below a certain level.

Anyone setup the Aeon Labs Smart Switch yet and if so are there any issues to be aware of? I know Rule Machine should work as that is an app I wouldn’t want to live without.

This would be a perfect test of the system as one day I was at work and my Internet went down (doesn’t happen often). Unfortunately it went down after the script told the system the Vivarium needed more heat. So the system was locked in the mode of delivering heat until my Internet came back up. It got hotter than it ever had before, but not too hot for the critter. It just made me realize even more why I want stand alone.

Any words of caution or concern from anyone?

Thanks,

Brad

The smart strip had an overhaul, that will be in the next build, the existing driver works, but had a few minor issues.

We don't have support for the original aeon multi, just the newer ones. I beleive there are reports with one of the multi drivers having excessive battery reports, I should have that sorted soon, other than that it does what it says on the tin...
