I have several virtual switches, created using the built-in tools. They are included in the HomeKit integration list. They do not, however, appear in HomeKit, and thus cannot be included in any HomeKit scenes or automations. I have reviewed this topic here in Community, but that discussion seems to have died without resolution (and closed).
Does anyone know how to get virtual switches to appear in Home/HomeKit? My HE is a C-8 and always kept to the latest firmware release.
I have more than a few Virtual Switches in HomeKit. I don’t do anything special to get them there. Their ‘virtualness’ is a Hubitat construct, HomeKit can’t actually know.
Try this…
Open the Home App and tap the … in the upper right. Tap Home Settings and scroll to Home Hubs and Bridges. (When I look, I have 9 of them, probably you’ll have fewer ) Tap on the name of your bridge (aka Hubitat hub) and then Accessories. You’ll see the list of known devices there, organized a little bit differently and maybe it will be there. I find myself doing this automatically now when I add any new device to HomeKit. I can find it and edit it to be in the Room I want vs the default room HomeKit picks.
