Virtual Presence stopped working

Hey all,

My 2 virtual presence devices worked well until 3 days ago, nothing since. The event details just shows present. I am using the native Virtual Presence driver. Have the Life360 Connector built in app installed but nothing else

We have been doing construction so power has been turned off/on many times. I have learned to do a shutdown then reboot or the hub ain't happy but that didn't occur back on the 22nd

Tried manually selecting departed and arrived and that does show in the events list

On 8/22 I was on 1.1.3.114, now I'm on 1.1.3.116
Just checked my Life360 on my phone and it shows activity from yesterday

Not sure how to jump start them again,

Thoughts?
Rick

Open the Life360 installed app on your hub and then simply click done. It should kick-start things.

I did that yesterday, after we were already home, found it wasn't fully setup with all the options like circle, family and presence sensors. It was setup before as I recall however I haven't gone in there in months since it was working so well

I'll check today to see if that worked

Thanks, Rick

I ahvent had the time to dig into this...but created a virtual presence device for the first time a couple of days ago. I wanted to use it as an easy way to stop my hib from going to away mode when my in laws are staying over. Ever since adding the virtual device my hub doesn't seem to change mode at all. Probably something silly I'm forgetting but let me know if you figure out what's wrong with your virtual device. It may be related to my problem.

our built in virtual presence device isn't capable of changing modes.
what app are you using for presence based mode changes?

Mode Manager. I had it setup to go to Away Mode when we both leave and Day/Evening mode when one of us come home. With my in laws in town, it was shutting off stuff and setting Armed-Away as well. I simply added a Virtual Presence device called Visitor to the above....that way I could manually set its state to prevent these automations temporarily.

Mine is working fine today

This morning I tested all the scenarios by manually changing the status of all 3 Virtual Presence devices and all the Modes changed as they should. I'm not sure if it was just opening all the various apps they were tied to and hitting done or if it was ever really broken...but it seems to be working.

I did this today too, and it does not work for me in Mode Manager.

I had my Away mode set to occur when everyone in the house was away...including my Virtual Presence for Visitors. I then manually set the presence device to "arrived" so that my Hub never went into away mode while we had visitors in town. When the visitors left I would manually set the Vpresence device to "departed".

Thanks. This is exactly what I am trying to do. Appears there is a bug in the system then. I just created the virtual presence device and called it โ€œHouse Guestโ€, I then added it to my away mode trigger in Mode Manager, and the mode remained in away mode. I then manually toggle house guest to away, then back to present, and mode manager does not pick it up. I removednmode manager, and reinstalled it, and added only the virtual presence and still, it does not pick up the virtual device. I am guessing it may be my virtual presence device is missing something. Did you use the HE Virtual Presence, or a custom one?

I used a custom driver that also exposed itself as a switch so I could control it from my dashboard. Unfortunately both my hubs have been shut down for some time so I can't confirm the exact driver I was using. I believe it was a modified version of @Cobra Virtual Presence Plus and I think that is no longer available (at least in the short term..right @Cobra)

You can try this one though...I think it should work the same:
