Virtual Presence not detected

The Hubitat mobile app shows that I am within the geofence. Location permissions are set to Always. And yet the Virtual Presence for my iPhone shows as not present.

I have checked the documentation and it looks like I followed directions. Can someone please help me?

In the iPhone app, when you select the hub, can you ensure that you selected the “Alex” device?

If so, I would recommend that you uninstall and reinstall the iPhone app to see if it makes a difference.

You could also see if there are any errors related to the “Alex” device in your logs.

You can also log out and log back in and that should do it too (just don't create a new device when you do)

I wanted to thank you guys for helping. I tried your suggestions and saw some mild improvement. Still quite unreliable and unusable for me unfortunately. To add to that, even Life360 has been problematic. I have Precise Location and Always enabled in my iPhone settings, but still can’t get reliable readings for presence, even when Life360 reports accurate location directly within its iOS app, I get delayed/unpredictable departed/arrived events with the Hubitat geofence I setup. :person_shrugging:

I saw through the Community threads that highly accurate Presence is sometimes troublesome or at least complicated to set up, with various workarounds, scripts, or apps that need to be set up. It would be very valuable for Hubitat to engineer a more straightforward solution for the average user. Or, publish a deployment guide that a motivated user could reference. If such a resource already exists, I couldn’t find it but I’d be very happy if anyone could point me to it.

Again, I just want to thank you guys for taking the time to comment. The amount of highly intelligent and highly technical community members is impressive, if not sometimes a bit intimidating for the layman like myself!
