Has anyone created a keypad or a slider to set a variable? I want to create a variable (number), that can be easily changed. I prefer a slider that can drag to the number I want, but I'm open to a keypad. I use that variable in rules to compare to.
I use one of the slider virtual devices for that, like virtual audioVolume. Virtual dimmer gives you switch as well, which can be a pain or an extra control. You are limited though to 0-100. You need a rule that when audio changes, it sets the variable value to the volume level.
You can just input a number directly by putting the hub variable on the dashboard as a variable number tile. On a phone it brings up the keypad entry to enter the number into the field.

I'm going to try the slider option. I thought that creating a variable connector device, I would be able to set the number without a rule, just the value of the slider... No???
You are right, there is an audio volume connector type. It does set the variable directly from the tile.
