Virtual device type to store text string?

I need to setup a virtual device to store a text string. I don't see anything that is specifically setup for this task? Is there anything like that?

You can use a Virtual OMNI Sensor and use the “setVariable” method to store a string

You can use a Global Variable Connector to connect to a RM variable. Or you can use a custom attribute in a driver to store and display anything you want. It really comes down to how you intend to use it and what information you want to display and what apps are going to interact with it.
