I just added 2 x virtual buttons to google and alexa but they don't appear in either app as device. Is this a bug or are they not supported?
I dont believe buttons are supported. I will assume you want to add a virtual device that acts as a momentary button. If that is the case, you can create a virtual switch. In the Preferences section of the device page, there is an autoOff setting. Select 500ms (or whatever you prefer). Now you can issue a "Turn on device" without the need for turn off command. If you need this for something different, just give the details and I'm sure someone in the community will provide a solution.

I've changed them to switches and all's good. Maybe they shouldn't show in the list if not compatible.
