Videofied Z-Wave Devices

Hello Community. I just purchased a Hubitat C8 hoping I could salvage around $1000 in existing window/door sensors and a TH6220WF Thermostat now that Honeywell has decided to abandon Resideo and it’s Home security community.

I was able to trace alternate part numbers found on the Honeywell door and window sensors to the Videofied brand, currently available at Geoarm dot com.

Unfortunately, I find nothing when searching out all this brand and part number information within the Hubitat community.

The last piece of advice I got from Resideo technical support was that all of these Honeywell branded sensors are z-wave devices.

Any help would be appreciated. I’m an electronic tech by trade (avionics) but not a coder at all. Thanks, Charlie

I think there is a lyric community integration for the thermostat. What window/door sensors do you have?

Can you post a link to these?

If they are zwave, cluster usage for sensors is pretty standard, so the likelihood is high they can be incorporated.

Yeah if they are Z-wave then there is a good chance they can work with a generic driver.

You will need to know the factory reset and exclude/include procedures of the devices though. Once you have your Hubitat hub you can just reset and then include the devices to find out if they will work or not.

Found a bunch of docs on the FCC site including a user manual. It seems to operate on the z-wave frequencies but may or may not use the standard z-wave protocol.

While these sensors do use the 900 MHz band, they're not z-wave. I read the manual for the motion sensor and the contact sensor. They use some other secure communication protocol, which also uses AES (like S2, but it isn't Z-Wave S2). The protocol (S2View) has enough bandwidth to transfer live video based on this PDF.

Thanks for removing the C8 pic. I guess I’m gonna have to turn in my new editor badge…..
